17L Open Top Liquid Nitrogen Container

A 17 L liquid nitrogen container (also called an LN₂ dewar) is a vacuum-insulated cryogenic vessel engineered for storing and accessing liquid nitrogen at around −196 °C. Open-top designs give you a wide neck opening for easier insertion and retrieval of samples, tools, or cryovials — ideal for laboratory use, biobanking, fertility clinics, veterinary and agricultural cryopreservation, and research applications.

❄️ Key Features

Cryogenic Storage:
Precision-engineered with double-walled vacuum insulation to minimize heat transfer, reducing evaporation and preserving LN₂ cold temperatures.

Open-Top, Wide Neck Design:
The open top / wide neck makes it easier to place and remove canisters, racks, boxes, or samples without a narrow neck restriction — helpful when working with larger items or frequent accesses.

Large Capacity:
~17 litres of LN₂ storage — providing a balance between portability and ample volume for batch storage of samples or extended use.

Low Evaporation & High Efficiency:
Good static evaporation characteristics and longer holding times compared with smaller dewars — helpful for labs needing continuous cryogenic conditions without frequent refilling.

Robust Construction:
Built using lightweight but strong materials (often aluminium or stainless steel) that withstand cryogenic temperature cycles.

Safe Operation:
Vented opening or lid options ensure safe release of nitrogen gas to prevent pressure buildup.

🔬 Typical Uses

Cryopreservation of cells, tissues, semen, embryos, and biological samples.

Laboratory storage in biotech, IVF, IUI, & clinical research.

Veterinary and animal/tissue cryogenic applications.
